Born and raised in St John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador (NL), Tyler recently moved to Ottawa to be at the centre of federal political action in Canada.
Tyler has nearly 10 years of experience in politics in NL; he has volunteered on campaigns, served as a federal riding association president, and sat on the provincial Executive Board of the NL NDP. He has also thrown his hat into the ring himself, standing as a candidate in a 2017 federal by-election.
Tyler’s political experience extends to the municipal level. He has managed City Council campaigns in St John’s, NL, and served on the board of a municipal government-focused non-profit in St John’s.
Tyler’s educational background in mathematics and science and related work experience as a researcher at Memorial University has equipped him with a strong ability to synthesize and communicate complex information. It also gives him a unique perspective on the goings-on in Canadian politics. He holds two undergraduate honours degrees in applied mathematics and physics, a Master’s degree in Computational Condensed Matter Physics, and a Master’s degree in Political Management.
