Andrea has served in various media and issues management focused roles during her many years in government.
Most recently, Andrea served as Press Secretary and Director of Media Relations to the Premier of Ontario and was responsible for providing strategic media relations and communications advice to the Premier and her staff. Prior to her time as Press Secretary, Andrea played a key role in the Premier’s Issues Management Office, where she was responsible for providing strategic risk management advice on daily and longer-term government issues.
Andrea has also served as a Press Secretary, Issues Manager and Legislative Assistant to the Minister of Transportation. In these roles, she helped the government pass critical legislation including the Making Ontario Road’s Safer Act, which introduced tougher penalties for distracted and impaired drivers. She also assisted in the development and implementation of public communications strategies for priority transportation projects like the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, Regional Express Rail in the GTHA, and High-Speed Rail from Toronto to Windsor.
Andrea has actively participated in numerous provincial political campaigns and was Press Secretary on the media bus for the 2018 provincial election.
Andrea holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Western University, where she rowed as a member of the varsity team. A proud Ottawa native, Andrea began her career in government as a non-partisan Ontario Legislative Intern at Queen’s Park.
