Sally Housser brings a wealth of experience to Navigator in media relations, crisis communications and issue management as well as campaign planning and execution. Most recently she served as Rachel Notley’s press secretary during the successful Alberta NDP provincial campaign.

Prior to joining Navigator, Sally worked in a variety of communications positions for the NDP both federally and provincially. Beginning as a press secretary in Jack Layton’s office and in the NDP’s 2011 war room, she moved on to serve as Deputy National Director of the Federal NDP during the 2012 leadership race, handling all media relations for the party during the contest. From Ottawa, Sally went west to the Government of Manitoba where she served first as press secretary to the Ministers of Justice, Hydro, Finance, Jobs and the Economy, and Advanced Education before taking over the position of Deputy Director of Cabinet Communications.

Originally from Newfoundland, Sally began her career in politics early as a parliamentary page in the House of Commons while studying Political Science at the University of Ottawa. After her studies she spent five years in London, England working for the Canadian High Commission before returning to Canada.
